I fell in love with geographic analysis and design while studying at Middlebury College in Vermont. When I graduate in February 2012, my BA will be in Environmental Policy. I've found that my interdisciplinary background in natural science, policy, and economics is a tremendous boon for analyzing spatial data and using maps to tell stories.
Why maps? I relish the challenge of conveying complex information in an elegant way. Geographic analysis and visualization provide powerful toolboxes for understanding complicated situations and transforming data into knowledge.
Outside of the geography lab, I can be found playing ultimate frisbee, exploring the great outdoors, or curled up with a good book. I'm a Seattle native and hope to make my way back to the beautiful Pacific Northwest after I graduate.
